A Beautiful day for a Tea Party

Well it was a gorgeous day and we had an amazing turnout!! Thank you to everyone who came out to our Mad Potters Tea Party. We had about 100 people come out to our event. We actually had to put another table out to accommodate everyone.

Margo Jamieson played jazz music on the piano which was beautiful. The tea, cookies and tea sandwiches were wonderful. There were over 200 mugs to choose from and we had 11 beautiful teapots in our auction.

Hope to see everyone again next year!

A Night with Zsuzsa Monostory

Zsuzsa Monostory joined us in January to tell us all about her passion for clay, how it began and whats she's doing now. We were very happy to have a passed Mississauga Potter back into the studio to share her passion with us.

Zsuzsa was born in Hungary and was a Biologist before discovering a love for the process or making pottery and Raku firing. She ended her career as a biologist to become a full time potter.

Zsuzsa currently works out of Williams Mill Visual Art Centre in Glen Williams http://www.williamsmill.com/homepage.html.

An October Evening with Wayne Cardinalli

Its always an entertaining evening when we invite Wayne Cardinalli to our Studio. His witty sense of humor and great demonstrations made for a great night of potting!

Christmas Angels

Every September the Guild make Christmas Ornaments to sell at our Fall Show and Sale to hel raise funds for the Guild. This year we made Angels..

Tea Party Fun

We had our first Tea Party Fundraiser in June 2009 at the Mississauga Civic Centre. Our members made mugs and teapots and put on a fun event with great tea and yummy baked goods.

First Prize in the Visual Arts Mississauga 31st Annual Juried Show of Fine Arts

Wendy Vervoort, a long time member of Fusion,Toronto Potters Guild and Mississauga Potters Guild, and full time potter/educator, on Thursday won the First Prize in the Visual Arts Mississauga 31st Annual Juried Show of Fine Arts. This is significant in it self, but it is even more important in that this was the First Prize in a competition of sculpture and painting combined. Fusion membership will be encouraged to hear this good news of yet another instance of clay being acknowledged as art.

The Show runs at the Art Gallery of Mississauga from December 18, 2008 to January 31, 2009.
